Join us for a screening of "Cartel Land," followed by a Q&A with Director Matthew Heinaman and Producer Tom Yellin.
"Cartel Land" is a film about the Mexican Drug War with a focus on the vigilante groups fighting the Mexican drug cartels. The two main juxtaposing subjects of the film are Tim Foley, the leader of Arizona Border Recon and Dr. José Mireles, a Michoacán-based physician who leads the Autodefensas.
Pizza will be served. Free and open to the public, no RSVP/registration required.
This event is part of the Film Fridays Series, which screens first-run documentaries followed by conversations with the filmmakers. The series is sponsored by the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards and the Columbia Journalism School Documentary Program.
